Leaders discuss Sandy recovery progress in Milford ahead of anniversary

MILFORD - Homeowners close to the waterfront in Milford are still rebuilding one year after Hurricane Sandy.

Local, state and federal officials held a press conference Monday to discuss recovery efforts.

During a news conference at Milford City Hall, Mayor Ben Blake reflected on the devastation and destruction the storm caused the city.

Gov. Dannel Malloy says the state is getting $65 million in additional federal aid for relief efforts and prevention measures.

Officials also encouraged people to take advantage of available state and federal funds as they continue to rebuild their homes.
