FAIRFIELD - Some municipal leaders hope it's last call for Connecticut's ban on Sunday booze sales.

Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch says Connecticut is one of only three states that does not allow alcohol sales on Sunday. Now, he and other local leaders are calling on Gov. Jodi Rell and the Legislature to lift the statewide ban.

Finch says allowing people to pick up a bottle of wine or beer on Sundays would mean an additional $8 million in state revenue.

However, some liquor store owners say by opening on Sunday, they would experience an increase in costs that could be more than their total sales for the day.
