STAMFORD - Linda McMahon is apparently planning to launch a second attempt to become a U.S. senator.

The state Republican Party chairman says McMahon, the former chief executive of World Wrestling Entertainment in Stamford, will be one of several Republicans who will seek the seat currently held by Sen. Joe Lieberman.

Lieberman is retiring next year.

McMahon lost to Richard Blumenthal last year in a race to replace Chris Dodd.
