WESTPORT - Westport-based Save the Children says it has staff members in Haiti to help communities prepare for Tropical Storm Tomas.

The charity's chief operating officer, Carolyn Miles, says their 800 Haitian employees are setting up basic living necessities and are equipped with medical supplies.

Miles says the good news is that there are many international organizations already on the ground in Haiti helping people rebuild their lives after the devastating earthquake that left many without a home in January.
