Local families waiting for news from loved ones missing in Libya

Two local families say they are waiting and hoping for good news after learning their loved ones are among four New York Times employees reported

WESTPORT - Two local families say they are waiting and hoping for good news after learning their loved ones are among four New York Times employees reported missing in Libya today.

According to the newspaper's executive editor, it has been a day since they have heard from Lynsey Addario and Tyler Hicks. Both grew up in Westport and attended Staples High School before going on to become Pulitzer Prize winning photographers.

The editor says the four colleagues were following government rebels in a coastal city in the northern part of the country.

The New York Times says Libyan officials are trying to locate the journalists and have assured them that they will be released and unharmed if found.

Hicks and Addario's families say they're getting constant updates from the newspaper, but that there's very little concrete information.
