GREENWICH - A New York man is facing charges after police say he crashed his car into the Greenwich police chief's cruiser.

Police say Luis Perea-Manrique was drunk when he ran a red light last week near Arch Street and slammed into Chief James Heavey's unmarked car.

Officials say his blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit.

They say the chief was not hurt in the crash.
