WESTPORT - A Westport woman who runs a website to help parents plan activities around town with their children has followed up with a smartphone app.

Catherine Siroka is the publisher and editor of Macaroni Kid, a resource to find family-friendly things to do. She says the Macaroni Kid app, released this week, is a mobile version of the site for families on the go.

Macaroni includes a mix of recipes, reviews and local events that help moms find local family fun, according to Siroka.

"It can help create a sense of community for local families," Siroka says. "It's a challenge for me in my own life, so hopefully I can help other people."
