WILTON - The man dubbed the "Mailbox Bandit" has been sentenced to more than four years behind bars. He was found guilty of stealing mail and money from local residents.

Investigators say Joseph Mo Pun Lau, 57, broke into a drop box outside the Wilton Post Office and cashed counterfeit checks he altered from the stolen mail.

Investigators say Lau, who's an illegal immigrant from Hong Kong, admitted to committing the same crimes in New York.
