NORWALK - A major snowstorm that dumped more than 2 feet of snow on the nation's capital Saturday missed southwestern Connecticut.

The storm, which wasn't expected to pack as big a punch, was supposed to bring 1-3 inches to the area. Instead, the area stayed on the extreme northern fringe of the storm.

There were some snow showers throughout the day, but no accumulations. With the wind chill, temperatures felt like the upper teens.
