HARTFORD - Gov. Dannel Malloy says bankruptcy is not an option for the state to avoid paying its debts.

The governor is meeting with state commissioners today to present his expectations and goals for the coming year.

First on the agenda is the state budget which currently has about a $3.5 billion deficit.

After that, the governor heads to Washington D.C. to attend the State of the Union Address tonight.
