HARTFORD - Gov. Dannel Malloy is asking federal officials for more help dealing with the aftermath of Irene.

In a call this morning with the Department of Homeland Security, Malloy is asking for more out-of-state repair crews and help getting power restored to thousands of residents still in the dark.

Both CL&P and United Illuminating have been scrambling to find line workers, tree trimmers and other workers to restore power.
