HARTFORD - Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-Conn.) said state officials are preparing for what could be a "serious potential incident" depending on the amount of snow the state gets over the next 24 hours.

Malloy took part in a conference call with 250 state and local officials this afternoon, and then held a news conference to brief the media.

The governor said both community leaders and residents should be prepared for what's ahead.

Malloy said the state's Emergency Operations Center will open tonight and stay open through tomorrow.Metro-North announced it would run on a Sunday schedule Wednesday due to the storm.
