DARIEN - The man accused of hitting a police SUV head-on and injuring a Darien lieutenant was arraigned in court today.
Officials say Angel Vega, 36, had been involved in a road-rage incident yesterday in Stamford. Stamford officers say they started to chase Vega and Darien police assisted once Vega entered their town.
Vega was charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, larceny and assault with a motor vehicle in both Darien and Stamford. He is being held on bond and will be back in court next month.
Lt. Thomas Krois suffered a leg injury in the crash and is expected to make a full recovery.
