Man accused of trying to kill police officers faces judge

NORWALK - A Norwalk man appeared in court today after police say he tried to kill two officers and himself during a confrontation last night.

Investigators say 52-year-old Stanley Mulvey was high on drugs when police were called to a domestic dispute between him and his girlfriend at United Storage in Norwalk. They say he pulled out an 8-inch kitchen knife and tried to stab the responding officers.

Police say they had to Taser Mulvey after he turned the knife on himself. He was then taken to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation.

Mulvey faces two counts of attempted murder and attempted assault on a police officer. He is being held on $1 million bond.
