Man arraigned in connection to Bridgeport home invasion

BRIDGEPORT - A man accused of breaking into a 90-year-old woman's apartment, tying her up and then stealing from her faced a judge today in Bridgeport.

Detectives say that forensic evidence from the scene helped lead them to their suspect. According to officials, Hector Martinez, 39, claimed he was delivering a package to the woman's apartment. Instead, they say he covered her mouth and eyes with duct tape so that he could steal $250 from her.

The home invasion occurred in March on Fairfield Ave. Police say the woman was tied up for three hours before someone found her. Home invasion puts 90-year-old woman in hospital
