Man arrested for allegedly hitting pedestrian while high

(09/09/10) NEW CANAAN - New Canaan police say they have arrested a Norwalk man for hitting a pedestrian while driving his work van under the influence.

The driver is said to work for Swimm Pool in Darien. Police say they found marijuana on him.

Witnesses say he was swerving all over the road moments before he barreled into another car and then up onto the sidewalk. A man, woman and child were walking on the sidewalk, the man grabbed his son and pulled him out of the way, but the woman was struck. She suffered injuries to her leg and foot.

The man was arrested, no word yet on what he's been charged with.
