MILFORD - Milford police say a Bristol man is facing arson charges in connection with a house fire last winter.

Police say they took Douglas McDonald, 35, into custody Monday.

They say McDonald owns the home on South Wind Lane where the fire took place in December.

Police say the fire started in a bedroom, but they don't know exactly what sparked it.

They say during the course of their investigation, they learned someone also tried to set fire to the home at an earlier date by leaving a candle burning with the gas stove on.
