Man charged with stealing Jeep after crash

WILTON - Wilton police say a man is facing charges for stealing a Jeep Liberty after he crashed a motorcycle.

They say Andrew El Massri, 28, crashed the motorcycle in Ridgefield in July and then got a ride with a passerby to a market in Wilton.

Police say he then stole the Jeep from a driveway near the market.

Two days later, someone in Waterbury reported seeing El Massri driving the Jeep.

Police say several witnesses said he had injuries consistent with being involved in a motorcycle accident.
