Man dies following Fairfield bus accident

Police say a Greenwich man who was hurt while riding a public bus in Fairfield Friday has died from his injuries.They say 68-year-old Francis Defreitas

FAIRFIELD - Police say a Greenwich man who was hurt while riding a public bus in Fairfield Friday has died from his injuries.

They say 68-year-old Francis Defreitas was standing inside the bus when the driver swerved to avoid a car that had apparently cut in front.  Police say Defreitas was thrown and hit his head.Authorities say he died from his injuries Saturday.

Police are urging anyone with information about the car, believed to be a red or brown Volkswagen convertible, to call 203-254-4800.
