A man died after falling into a smokestack at Yale University Saturday morning. The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m.

NEW HAVEN - A man died after falling into a smokestack at Yale University Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m.

New Haven fire officials say the 55-year-old man fell about 40 feet at the Yale Central Power Plant.

Officials say the man was stuck for about an hour after falling off a ladder inside the smokestack.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
