Man in fatal crash in New Canaan died of injuries to brain

NEW CANAAN - The state medical examiner says the man killed in a car accident in New Canaan Friday night died from injuries to his brain.

Police say 28-year-old Stephen Meszkat crashed his Audi on Ponus Ridge Road, south of Rippowam Road.

They say Meszkat went off the street and hit a stone wall.

According to the Hoyt Funeral Home in New Canaan, Meszkat's family will be receiving friends from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Congregational Church of New Canaan.
