BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport man was arraigned today after investigators say he shot a man in the stomach, then pointed a gun at a police officer who fired and shot him.

Police say 21-year-old Armando Gonzalez shot a man inside Greene Homes Housing Complex yesterday afternoon and then, moments later, confronted a Bridgeport officer with a gun.

According to court records, Officer Ned Love told Gonzalez to freeze, but when he allegedly didn't listen, Love fired at him outside the housing complex, hitting Gonzalez in the leg.

Gonzalez could face federal charges because he is a convicted felon.

The man police accuse Gonzalez of shooting is listed in stable condition at Bridgeport Hospital.

Love was put on paid leave after the shooting.
