Man killed in Greenwich hit-and-run

A man was killed Sunday night after police say he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Greenwich.

The incident happened at East Putnam Avenue and Hillside Drive around 11 p.m.

GREENWICH - A man was killed Sunday night after police say he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Greenwich.

The incident happened at East Putnam Avenue and Hillside Drive around 11 p.m. Police say an off-duty officer driving near the intersection passed the victim.

They say the victim was hit by a 2006 or later Mercedes Benz M-class.

They say the car has a silver honeycomb grill, and the right side of it was damaged in the incident.

Police say the victim was a 43-year-old Greenwich man but have not yet released his name.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
