STAMFORD - Witnesses are hailing a Stamford doctor as a hero for helping save the life of a driver involved in a serious car accident on Long Ridge Road this morning.
Police say 48-year-old Thomas Blair was headed northbound when he lost control of his car, crossed the center line, hit a telephone pole and a barrier before his car caught on fire. The accident left Blair trapped inside.
Neighbors say Dr. Denise Green-Pasard and her husband, who live nearby, rushed to the scene and did what they could to help Blair.
Green-Pasard says she was unable to get inside the car because the doors had been locked, but did everything possible to make sure that Blair held strong until an ambulance arrived.
According to hospital officials, Blair is expected to make a full recovery.
