Man seriously hurt in fire on Main Street in Bridgeport

Bridgeport firefighters say a homeless man was hurt after getting trapped in a burning building. The incident occurred just after 3 a.m. on Main Street.

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport firefighters say a homeless man was hurt after getting trapped in a burning building.

The incident occurred  just after 3 a.m. on Main Street.

Officials say the building had been used by squatters, and they are relieved that more people weren't trapped in the blaze.

The victim was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, but officials have not released his condition. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
