Manchester shooter called 911

MANCHESTER - The man who killed eight people and wounded two others at a Manchester beer distributor called 911 after he was done shooting.

Police released an audio recording of Omar Thornton's call yesterday.

In it, he can be heard saying he "had to take it into my own hands and handle the whole problem." He also said he wished he could have shot more people.

The 911 dispatcher is heard urging him to surrender. The call ends abruptly when Thornton says he sees a SWAT team. Thornton then apparently shot himself.
