STAMFORD - A Bridgeport man was sentenced today to 12 years in prison for conspiracy to commit murder.

Police say 24-year-old Marco Robles took part in the murder of Jonathan Green in 2008. Green was shot on his 26th birthday.

Robles admitted to misidentifying Green to a friend as a drug dealer who then shot and killed him. Robles pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in order to receive a lower sentence.

Police say a third man also took part in Green's death.

Laura Green, Jonathan’s mother, spoke passionately in court about her son. She said she thinks all three men deserved much more than just prison time.
