BETHEL - A Connecticut father received an unexpected Christmas present when his son who was stationed in Afghanistan as a Marine returned home.

Cpl. David Curtis worked with his mom and sister to keep his arrival from his dad a secret. The family set up a lunch at the Putnam House in Bethel for the surprise.

Curtis has served in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is no word yet if he has to go back.
