NORWALK - A blizzard has brought at least a foot of snow to most of the area.

According to News 12 Connecticut meteorologists, the snow, which intensified Sunday, continued through the afternoon into Monday morning.

The intense snowfall was accompanied by very strong winds. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, as roads are slick and visibility is poor.

Officials say that emergency crews will be on the road for 12-hour shifts to clear the snow.
