BRIDGEPORT - City leaders are vowing to help families who were forced from their home due to a house fire in Bridgeport.

Mayor Bill Finch said he will help Tiffany Greene, her four children and all of the other families affected by a fire on Thursday morning.

The fire destroyed much of a six-family home they lived in.  Greene says whatever wasn't destroyed in the house now has smoke and water damage.

Firefighters say they had to break into the building to fight the fire, and the second and third floors now have severe water damage.

No one was seriously hurt in the fire.

Officials say they will not release the cause of the fire for at least two weeks.
