STRATFORD - Stratford's mayor is hoping to throw a stop sign up for a tractor-trailer driving school using residential streets.

Mayor John Harkins asked the state?s traffic commission yesterday to ban non-essential trucks on routes 110 and 113. Neighbors have complained that they struggle enough dodging cars every morning while walking to work and that the tractor-trailers driven by student drivers pose too great a risk.

The owner of the driving school says he plans on rerouting the traffic.

The commission is expected to get back to the town in a few months.
