Mayoral race highlights primary day in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT - Today is primary day for Democratic voters in Bridgeport.

The ballot includes the race for mayor between incumbent Mayor Bill Finch and challenger Mary-Jane Foster.

The polls will remain open until 8:00 p.m.

Secretary of the State Denise Merrill says representatives from her office will be checking polling places.

The primary was delayed because of a court order allowing Democratic candidate Mary Jane Foster to get her name on the ballot.
