MILFORD - Members of a Milford synagogue are returning to their house of worship tonight after a fire destroyed the building last October.

The Hebrew Congregation of Woodmont Chabad rushed to get the building ready for the Jewish High Holy Day of Rosh Hashana, which began tonight at sundown.

The president of the synagogue said the reconstruction was a quick turnaround and that it was down to the wire to get the place ready for this evening.

The synagogue still has damage, but the hall next door is renovated so services can be held there.

The next phase of construction includes a passageway between the two buildings, a museum, and major repairs of the historic building.
