FAIRFIELD - Friends and family gathered in Bridgeport Friday to share their memories of a 21-year-old Fairfield man who went missing last month.

Max Maisel was a 21-year-old student at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was the son of Ivan Maisel, a senior writer for ESPN.com.

Maisel went missing on Feb. 22 near the Genesee River.

In a statement released by his family, Max is presumed drowned. Police have called off the search.

One official told News 12 Connecticut that more than 500 people attended the service at B'nai Israel.

Maisel is survived by his parents and two sisters.
