BRIDGEPORT - Residents from across southwestern Connecticut are paying their respects to two fallen Bridgeport firefighters who died in the line of duty on Saturday.

Many left messages with sidewalk chalk on the driveway at Engine Company 7-11 on Ocean Terrace.  Others left flowers or candles to honor the two men who gave their lives to protect others.

Michel Baik, 49, and Lt.  Steven Velasquez, 40, were killed Saturday while battling a three-alarm fire at an Elmwood Avenue home.

Stamford fire chaplain Robert Post, who left a message on the driveway at the fire house today, says the loss is being felt across all of southwestern Connecticut and beyond.
