Merritt Pkwy. overpass to reopen in Norwalk after construction

NORWALK - Officials in Norwalk have announced the reopening of a bridge spanning the Merritt Parkway after nearly two years of construction. The East Rocks Road overpass had been closed so part of the structure could be replaced. The span is set to reopen Wednesday morning. State Sen. Bob Duff (D-25th District) says the repairs will make life easier for people living nearby. "It's going to be helpful for the church that's on the road, the residents in the area and especially our emergency responders," he says. Duff also says the bridge should have reopened sooner, but that the original construction plans were revised.
