NORWALK - Metro-North is implementing some new ticketing rules that go into effect Thursday.

Metro-North officials say purchased tickets will be valid for only 14 days, instead of the current six months.

Ten-trip tickets will be have to be used within six months instead of a year.

As for ticket refunds, riders will only have 30 days to get money back, rather than the existing one-year period.

Ticket refunds will also cost $10 per transaction.

A Metro-North spokesperson says residents can "lock in" the current rates by buying tickets before Thursday.
