NORWALK - The head of the Metro-North Commuter Council is outraged by a bill that was proposed by Gov. Dannel Malloy that would replace the whole council.
Jim Cameron, of Darien, reports that the bill calls for new members that would be appointed by Malloy and legislators. Cameron says the proposal defeats the council's purpose which is to analyze legislation that would impact commuters.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) says the bill would only change the name of the council, not its purpose. The DOT reports that there is no indication now that the current members would be replaced.
