NORWALK - Metro-North says it expects to return to full service Friday after a chaotic day marked by delays and cancellations following another blast of winter weather.

Service on Metro-North resumed at 9 a.m. after trains were stopped all morning. Service on the New Haven line had been suspended since early this morning due to the snow.

Metro-North says it was overrun by snow and equipment problems and as a result, couldn't run safely.

The trains will be running on a Sunday schedule until Friday morning and service is expected to resume for the New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury branches.
