NORWALK - Full service has been restored on Metro-North's New Haven Line after weeks of delays that were sparked by a power outage.

Service was disrupted between Stamford and Grand Central Station for nearly two weeks because of a power failure in Westchester County.

The problems prompted some local lawmakers to call for changes to the way the system operates. "We need a long-term policy for ticket reimbursement or compensation," says state Representative Gail Lavielle, of Wilton, who adds that the outage has come at a cost to commuters.

Metro-North says it will offer credits to commuters who have weekly and monthly tickets and were impacted by the outage.
