BRIDGEPORT - News 12 Connecticut sat down with the new president of Metro-North to discuss his plans to improve the railroad.

Joseph Giulietti says that he's got a long list of challenges ahead of him, including his priority to increase safety along the embattled railway.

First, Giulietti is waiting to hear back from federal regulators, who have suggestions to improve safety.

After that, he says scheduling has to improve. MTA data shows trains are slow to arrive on time - the slowest they've been in more than 20 years.

Before coming to Metro-North, Giulietti served as executive director of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority.
