Metro-North service restored

FAIRFIELD - Metro-North service is running again after a fallen tree in Fairfield shut down all trains between South Norwalk and New Haven for a time Wednesday morning.

The disruption occurred at around 4:40 a.m. when a falling tree took down overhead wires.

Service was affected for the entire commute while repairs were made, but was restored by late morning.
