Metro-North ticket window closed in Darien

DARIEN - Commuters in Darien will see a big change as they will now only be able to buy tickets from an automated machine.

The manned ticket window closed just after noon on Tuesday. Instead, a third ticket machine will be soon added to the platform.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation says the closure is a cost-cutting measure.

The Darien station is the only one in Connecticut affected. The worker at the station will be reassigned.
