NORWALK - Metro-North is warning commuters on its New Haven line to be prepared for significant service cuts starting Monday as it tries to repair nearly half of its fleet.
It says it will be cutting about 10 percent of trains during the morning and afternoon rush. Metro-North officials say the ongoing extreme weather has knocked out about 40 percent of its rail cars, creating a backlog at the Stamford rail yard.
Officials say the revised schedule is expected to last about a month. All passengers are being advised to check Metro-North's website before heading to the station.
