STAMFORD - The case against a Greenwich man accused of beating his wife with a baseball bat continued Wednesday in Stamford Superior Court.

Diane DeMaio, 54, was listed in critical condition after police say her husband Michael DeMaio, 55, tried to bludgeon her last month. He allegedly attacked her in a closet in their home following an argument.

The prosecution has asked that the next hearing be delayed until December so as to get a better idea of how well Diane DeMaio is recovering. The victim's family says she can now walk and talk.

Michael DeMaio faces attempted murder and assault charges.
