Michael DeMaio, of Greenwich, charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to bludgeon wife

STAMFORD - A Greenwich man was arraigned Wednesday on attempted murder charges after allegedly trying to bludgeon his wife with a baseball bat.

Police say Michael DeMaio, 54, intended to kill his wife, who is currently listed in critical condition at Stamford Hospital. According to police, the situation began as a domestic dispute at the couple’s Round Hill Road home.

The judge set bond at $1 million and called for a restraining order, house arrest and electronic monitoring.

DeMaio is due back in court next week.
