GREENWICH - Convicted killer Michael Skakel took the stand today testifying in his latest appeal that his attorney Mickey Sherman failed to properly defend him during a 2002 murder trial.

The Kennedy cousin lashed out against his former attorney claiming Sherman was so caught up in the lime light of the celebrity case that he didn't provide a sound defense.

Sherman had rejected that claim earlier in the appeal hearing.
Skakel is serving 20 years-to-life for the 1975 murder of his Greenwich neighbor Martha Moxley.
