Michele's Pies serves up dessert for thousands

NORWALK - Bakeries and pie shops throughout southwestern Connecticut were abuzz Wednesday as residents picked up their pre-ordered desserts for Thanksgiving.

But perhaps most inundated with customers was Michele's Pies on Main Avenue in Norwalk. The shop, which was recently featured on the Food Network, had a line of people through the store and down the sidewalk for much of the day.

Owner Michele Albano says she never imagined so many people would be eating her pies, but thousands of orders were placed. Most popular this year, Albano says, is the maple pumpkin pie.
