STAMFORD - Stamford attorney Mickey Sherman is heading to federal prison today on tax evasion charges.

Sherman, who represented convicted murderer and Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel, was sentenced to a year and a day behind bars.

A judge ruled Sherman's law license will be suspended while he's in prison, but he can apply for reinstatement when he's released.
