Milford begins 'Don't Block the Box' campaign

MILFORD - Milford police launched an effort to keep the Boston Post Road clear in front of the mall.

They have designated the Boston Post Road and its intersections with Cedarhurst Lane and East Town Road as "Do Not Block the Intersection" areas. Police say it will ease traffic congestion and make it easier for emergency vehicles to get through.

The city has installed signs and painted lines to clearly identify the boundaries.

Officers will be at the two intersections starting Friday and say anyone who violates the policy could receive a $93 ticket.
